Food Pantry

The food pantry is open the first Saturday of every month from 10:00 AM till Noon. The schedule for the rest of 2008 is:

September 6 October 4 November 1 December 6

The pantry exists to serve and assist those living in West, South and East Hanover, and Lower Paxton Townships who are in need of basic food supplies. However, no one with a genuine need will be turned away. All that is required of clients is the completion of a short form indicating your name, address, employment status and the number of people in your household.

Only non-perishable food items are currently being distributed, though loaves of bread are usually available.

Interested in Volunteering?
Anyone is encouraged and welcome to help out on the Saturdays the pantry is open. All that is needed is two to four hours of your time and energy. Normal tasks include setting up a few tables and chairs, sorting and boxing food items, brewing some coffee, and just being a warm and inviting face to those who drop in. If you would like to sign up or get more information, please call:
Tonya Hornung phone 469-2370

Interested in Donating Food?
Currently the pantry is entirely stocked by donations from the attendees of LifePoint and also from the local community. For example, both the West Hanover Elementary and Linglestown Middle Schools recently donated food items. If you or your group would like to donate items simply drop them off at LifePoint on a Sunday morning (worship starts at 10:00 AM but someone will be there from 8:00 AM up until Noon) or call one of the following to make arrangements:
Dave and Natalie Marple phone 652-6529
Tea Snead phone 671-6997

Why do we have this ministry?
The people will ask Him, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?” Jesus will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’
